This collection is going to be used to do a photographic survey of the railway in Balbriggan over the years. Some defining moments include the derailment of 123 with a Mk. 3 push-pull train, the replacement of the 'County Bridge' along with the upgrading of the line.

Over time I also hope to include the different types of trains that have served Balbriggan.

2008 also saw two different movemensts of DART units to Drogheda through Balbriggan.

    Welcome
Welcome to Rail Scene Ireland. The site was started in September 2006 and has grown since then. The gallery is updated on a regular basis and shows the contemporary rail scene in Ireland. For pictures from the 1970s to the mid-2000s, check out the Rail Scan Ireland Gallery in the list below.

Until 1st January 2009, all shots went into class specific collections. This has now stopped and shots remain in monthly collections. To see a certain train from the 2006-2008 period, either check out the groups below, or use the search function.

    Thank You.
